Q: How many times a day and how much does an English Bulldog have to eat?
My daughter owns an English bulldog about 30 pounds but she only feeds her once a day and the dog is kind of skinny. My question is how much should an English Bulldog be fed (how many cups), and why is her veterinarian saying once a day is not enough?

Since the vet sees the dog I would have to agree with them.
I always feed what food is recommended for the bulldog but split it into two feedings.

I have a 60 lb English bulldog. I feed her 2 times a day. I give her 2 cups of dry mixed with a half can of moist in the morning between 8-9 am. Then 2 cups dry mixed with moist in the evening between 5-6. She is very healthy. I always leave her water down.

You can also try to feed her wet cat food for a while. Cat food is higher in protein and calories, fat, minerals, and vitamins than dog food. It can help her to gain some weight.

Recommended daily amount: 11/2 to 2 cups of high-quality dog food daily, divided into two meals.
How much your adult dog eats depends on his size, age, build, metabolism, and activity level. Dogs are individuals, just like people, and they don't all need the same amount of food. It almost goes without saying that a highly active dog will need more than a couch potato dog. The quality of dog food you buy also makes a difference–the better the dog food, the further it will go toward nourishing your dog, and the less of it you'll need to shake into your dog's bowl.

I have a 7-year-old adult, 50 lb., female Bulldog and I've been feeding her twice per day since she was 6 months old. The amount that is fed would depend on the quality of the kibble itself. In general, the better the quality, the less kibble that needs to be fed because most of the junk food is just fillers anyway. (I feed Merrick Senior to our girl and she gets 3/4 cup twice per day)

Yea, they usually need at least 2 times a day. When you feed it does it attack its food like it hasn’t been fed in days? Then it needs to be fed more often. My friend has one and he feeds it 3 times a day and is healthy-looking not skinny or fat just healthy.

Half a cup of food 3 times a day….morning, afternoon, and night. I, however, like to mix up his variety and give him one serving of wet dog food a day. The wet food also helps regulate his digestive system by "lubricating" his tract.

Feed your English Bulldog more than once a day! he's probably starving!
I would feed him 3-4 times a day and always leave water out. I had one for a few days and I just left the food out all day lol
