Puppies shouldn't be taken away from its mother until it is 8 weeks old. It will barely be 3 weeks old by then and will have just opened its eyes not that long ago. It won't be ready till June 2nd.

Even if it was weaned by then… the puppies aren't supposed to leave the litter until at least 8 weeks old. It's not just about if the puppy can eat normal food. You also have to worry about behavioral issues. They learn a lot from the rest of the litter in that amount of time. I wouldn't buy from anyone who is willing to get rid of the puppy before that amount of time has passed.

The puppy should be at 4 weeks eating a mixture of mince and milk as well as still suckling from the mother. I let the mother decide when she has suckled them enough. The minimum I would let a puppy go is 10 weeks

No, a puppy no matter the breed should start weaning at 4 weeks old but should never leave the mom before 8 weeks old.
It should be wormed with mom and siblings at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks and should have the first vaccine at least one week before you bring it home to make sure there are no reactions (they can get the first shot at 6 weeks old)

I raise Dachshunds and I don't let a puppy leave before it is 10 weeks old. To remove a pup from mom and littermates much before that interrupts some valuable learning it is getting from Mom and the siblings. To have a well rounded and stable dog as an adult, don't be in too big of a rush to bring it home, let it stay with Mom for 10 weeks.

So no.
By the end of April, he'll just be starting to eat solid food, and his mother will still be nursing him as well.

It is important to the pup to stay with its litter and mother until he/she reaches 8 weeks!!! I can't stress that enough!!! You start to ween a Dachshund pup between 5-6 weeks (4 being the bare minimum)…. and this is just to start the weening. The process takes time. Between 4-8 weeks is crucial to the development of your pup don't rush the process or you could end up with a sick, unsocial, untrusting animal.
In short, if you are getting it from any reputable breeder it should not be ready.

Heck no! Leave him with his mom AT LEAST 6 weeks. They need the immunities that they receive from their mom's milk!

They start weening bet 4-6 weeks. The longer they stay with mom the better dachshunds they are later. No earlier than 8 weeks, they need mom's milk for immunity.

No, a smaller dog breed like Doxie shouldn't leave its mother until he is 12 weeks old. 4 weeks is barely walking.

NO! Dachshund puppies are weaned at 5-6 weeks old. Puppies should NEVER be separated from their mothers until they are 8-10 weeks old.

Are Dachshund and Doxie actually two different breeds, or are they just different names for the same breed? What are the distinguishing characteristics that differentiate the two, if any?

6-8 weeks. Don’t do it before that!
