Q: Would a dalmatian be good in an apartment? I’m not saying this is what i’m really going to do. I know most things about them but how would they go in an apartment?

As long as you give it enough exercise and enough time to play outdoors, you'll be fine. Just make sure you don't live too high. I know a person who kept a Jindo and Golden Retriever in her small apartment successfully. :)

Dalmatians are fairly large dogs. Also, a lot of them are somewhat mean-tempered. I would not suggest to keep it in an apartment.

that is just a rumor that Dalmatians are mean-tempered. the only reason they would be 'tempered' is if they are deaf and u come up behind them.
I have a Dalmatian. He is a very good dog, very lovable. but I live in a house so it may be different in an apartment. but the only thing that he does that would go over well in an apartment is that he barks when he 'needs' or 'wants' something but he is quite otherwise. I think he thinks he is a lap dog Lol. o the only other thing is that at least my Dalmatian gets into the trash A LOT but I don't think the likeliness of that is going to change from a house to an apartment…

Having any dog in an apartment will be difficult unless it's on the ground floor and you have a garden. Imagine having to carry a puppy downstairs in the morning, they cannot wait for a pee until you are dressed. If its an older dog, it may want a pee during the night.
Dogs are noisy and your neighbors may object. They sometimes destroy furniture or pee on the carpets. Landlords object to this and you could be evicted, what would happen to your dog then???

most people will say you can't own a large dog in an apartment, but I completely disagree. although there are some people who cannot handle that, others are perfectly capable.
I have a german shepherd in a two bedroom apartment. I make sure and give him plenty of exercises and was very adamant and persistent on the house training when he was a younger puppy.
I take my GSD on three 1/2 mile walks a week [he's only 5 months old] and some days I take him over the park to play ball. I can also leave him alone for a few hours if I need to go out and I don't have to worry about him destroying anything.
as long as you have the time and energy to put into training and exercise you should be perfectly fine with a dalmatian in an apartment.
also just keep in mind that you might be living in a complex that allows large dogs now, but I've found it fairly hard to find a place that does allow large dogs.
