We fed our shepherd Orijen when he was young, now we feed him Taste of the Wild. Store-bought grade dog food is crap & will eventually kill your dog or cat. Think you would ever eat your dog's food? All NATURAL, no fillers, chemicals or grain/gluten is closer to what wolves survive on.

What kind of food is best for Caucasian Shepherd? personally, I prefer burglars. I like feeding crack head burglars to an Ovcharka.
Seriously, the food that is best for Caucasian Shepherd is kibble mixed with turkey or lamb meat, salmon mixed with carrots and kale. But be careful how you feed protein to a large breed, they go through growth spurts that affect their bones and joints.

That depends on age, exercise level, and any medical conditions. Watch the protein level in your Caucasian Shepherd food if the dog is not active, or if it is still young.
I have feed 3/4 raw and 1/4 Flint River with great success in the past. but that is what works for me. There are many good quality foods on the market.
Mine is experiencing some health problems and I will be changing to a lower protein diet
Keep in mind even the best food isn't worth anything if the dog won't eat it

There's no real breed-specific Caucasian mountain dog food. Get the best food you can afford and don't skimp. Look into some super-premium brands like Orijen, Taste of the Wild, Pure Vita, Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Innova, EVO, Instinct, Canidae, et al. You'll have a healthy, beautiful dog. He'll have compact, dense poop and not much of it. You won't have to feed as much because it is more nutritional than standard brands.

Caucasian Shepherd doesn't eat much because they were used to the lack of food in their past life. Anyway, this dog is large and it's better to give it some quality food to avoid health problems.

there is special food for different breeds like for example: if you have a Poodle they have a food special for a poodle or in your case maybe they have Caucasian Mountain dog food. it is called Royal Canine and also Natural Balance is good.
