One of the most important values of our Caucasian Shepherds kennel is the selection and breeding process. Ever since its beginnings, we carefully went into the details of each dog we bought, analyzing its previous generations, paying attention to details of the dogs’ appearance and posture.

Canisa de Bolintin as it is known in Romania or The Titans Family started near Bucharest in 1998, in a period when Caucasian Shepherd puppies were brought by Moldavian breeders in Romania for sale. Alexandru Duta, my father and the initiator of the kennel, bought the first two pups from Moldavia and Ukraine and the next few from Hungary. It was clear for him that the passion and love for this spectacular dog breed would stay for a long time in his life so he started the kennel, with the help and support of my brother, Florin, and our loving mother, Eugenia. As I was only 4 years old at that time, I grew up along these beautiful dogs and learned their every move. They were great playmates for me as well as great teachers in what concerns instinct and power.
Working and caring for these beautiful giants alongside my elder brother Florin as he was a teen and later on passing this to me, my father managed to make this international Caucasian Shepherd kennel become successful and recognized starting from its very first years.
We focus on preserving the typical massive characteristics of the Caucasian Mountain Dog and not on breeding aggressive traits further on. We pay special attention to the social component of a Caucasian Shepherd’s training in order to breed balanced characters in our dogs, so that they can be the best family dogs and guard dogs at the same time. We spend a lot of time with the dogs, playing, walking them outside and constantly introducing them to new people.
Going out in the world to participate in competitions alongside my father and several of our fantastic dogs has been a part of my life ever since I was a child. It’s one of the most rewarding activities you can have with your dog, no matter if you are a breeder or just the owner of a dog. Participating in international competitions and exhibits and winning prizes with our dogs has taught us a lot about the breed, has perfected or skills and brought constant improvements to our kennel, as well as plenty of friends and connections worldwide.
Titan, our Caucasian Shepherd kennel alpha and most valued dog, won over 22 excellent marks throughout his competition history. We are very proud of his achievements and the proof that we are doing our job as best as possible with our kennel. Here are a few of the awards that Titan has received: 2 excellent marks obtained in 2015 at the World Dog Show Milano / Club show, Italy; 1 excellent mark obtained in 2016 at the European Dog Show 2016 Brussels, Belgium and 1 excellent mark, 1 CAC title, 1 CACIB title, obtained in 2015 at CACIB Show Asenovgrad, Bulgaria.
The Titans Family International Caucasian Shepherd Kennel has sent pups in these twenty years in over 35 countries around the world in Europe, Asia, Africa but mostly in the US, Canada, and the UK. We are very happy for our achievements and each pup becomes a journey for us in itself, having a distinct personality and a unique owner with whom we connect in order to make the best pairing. I have traveled personally quite a few times to deliver puppies in several countries. Now the shipment is mainly done by plane and it is very safe and efficient, but it is still beautiful to follow the whole process of adoption and receive pictures after a while with the happy owners and their dogs.

We love collaborations and making friends all around the world; it’s something that came naturally in our kennel activity, especially when going out to competitions. We made lots of friends who have kennels in different countries and they bought beautiful Caucasian Mountain Dogs from us. Other breeders have bought dogs from our Titans Family because of the specific large dimensions of the dog on which we focus and which we love to keep passing forward in our pairings. One example of such a large dog that left to a breeder in Africa is Ares, measuring 90 cm (35,5 inches) from the ground to withers. He needed a special crate to be custom made for him and he was shipped to Africa from an airport in the Czech Republic where we took him by car. You can read his story in detail here.
