Samoyed Pictures

The Samoyed is not only incredibly kind and sweet but it is also one of the most beautiful Russian dogs. This Smiley dog often models as a cover dog for pet magazines and attracts photographers from around the world hunting for great Samoyed pictures.

Tundra Ice Samoyeds is a nice kennel located in the suburbs of St. Paul, MN, that has been in Samoyeds for over 14 years. Their first two Samoyeds were rescues, Tundra and Sierra, and today they mostly have dogs that come from Tundra Winds’ Samoyeds, a working line in Colorado. Their goal is to have a small, high-quality line with good working ability and with strong temperaments. All the dogs are raised in home and are a part of the family (Photo Credits: Tundra Ice Photography/Flickr).

In Tundra Ice Samoyeds they know perfectly well why would anyone want a Samoyed dog:

1/ The Coat – What attracts most people to the Samoyed is the pleasure of stroking such a lavish coat. It can be pure white, white and biscuit or cream.

2/ The face – If the coat doesn’t win you over, the facial characteristics will. The Samoyed’s mouth curves upward at the corners forming a smile that is never far away.

3/ The body – The outward beauty of the Samoyed belies the strength beneath.

4/ Safety - While aggression is not unknown, it is rare and it is not innate.

5/ Humor - Watch closely and you will see the comic element in a Samoyeds reaction to everyday situations.

6/ Companionship – The Samoyed is alert, expressive, intelligent, and full of affection. Get into a routine at home and the Samoyed will match your movements and keep time for you.

One of the kennel’s owners and breeders, a teacher for now, is known to Samoyed pictures lovers as Tundra Ice. She’s not a professional photographer but has been involved in photography for more than 20 years. Most of her great shots picture her beloved Samoyeds that are sledding, participating in weight pull, or taking part in showing in American Kennel Club’s conformation as well as in agility.  According to her, they also enjoy “being spoiled rotten”.

In this small set of Tundra Ice’s Samoyed pictures, we can meet some beautiful members of this loving family.

First of all let’s meet Windy and Taiga, probably the best female dogs in the kennel. Windy has an unusually serious expression on her face while Taiga looks very proud. Samoyed mothers lose much of their hair after having puppies, and then it grows back lush and beautiful. In this picture, Taiga is in the "regrowth" stage.

Here is Windy again, surveying the scene in the Rocky National Park, Colorado.

And here are all of Taiga's daughters together (Lexi, Taiga, Denali, and Sky). One glance at this marvelous Samoyed photo is enough to understand why Samoyeds are called the Smiley dogs.

The last of Samoyed pictures this time is a photo of Taiga Sullie’s 10 weeks pups - Denali, Lexi (center), and Griffin.
