J E D: Is it okay to buy a crossbreed between a Golden Retriever and a Labrador dog? Is it a good breed?
I'm planning to buy a puppy. Someone offered me a crossbreed between a Labrador and a Golden Retriever. Is it ok or should I refuse his offer? Thanks for the help guys.

Both Labradors and Goldens are great dogs, I'd think that a cross would be AMAZING! Make sure you spend time with the dog (if you can) be for your buy. Check its temperament. Find out if the dog has been to the vet at all, and get the papers if it has.

A Labrador retriever is a breed, and a Golden retriever is a breed, but a cross between the two is a mutt. Take the cross it will b a great dog, as long as they don't want you to pay an arm and a leg for it.

Hi! I have lab/golden retriever crossbreed, He was given to me as a gift when he was 8 weeks old. I was the first person to touched and hugged him the day he was born, Believe me guys He is so intelligent, I mean his memory is unbelievable and sorry I do not agree about they are mutts or greedy.

It's ok to ADOPT one... as in from a shelter, or if one is homeless.
You should run away from anyone offering to SELL you one. They are mutts and are not "worth" any money. They are not registerable with any reputable kennel club, their health cannot be guaranteed, and anyone who intentionally breeds mutts is probably not intelligent or considerate enough to properly vet them.
You would be better served to purchase either a Golden or Lab from a reputable breeder, or adopt one (or a mix) from a shelter or rescue. I guarantee you that right now as you read this, there is a Golden/Lab mix being euthanized somewhere in this country because of greedy backyard breeders like the one who's "offering" you theirs.

It's not a breed. It's a MUTT. Both breeds going into it are good-natured, sweet dogs, so the cross should be as well.
This said: DO NOT BUY A MIXED BREED FOR ANYTHING MORE THAN THE PRICE OF SHOTS AND WORMING. Anyone that produces mixes like this is a backyard breeder only interested in money. There has been no health testing on any kind done on the parents of mixed breeds, so that much is a gamble.
If you are willing to change that and are paying no more than $ 50 for this puppy, it should grow up to be a lovely companion. Meet the parents, see if you like their dispositions, and follow gut instinct.
Good luck, and have fun with your puppy if you decide to get one!
