Most dog owners consider their pet as part of the family, and they usually buy a new car that has dog-friendly features. This year Nissan has unveiled a unique new model – the X-Trail 4Dogs that is positioned as the best car for dog owners.
The X-Trail 4Dogs is a dog-friendly crossover, with a cargo area of 445 liters in size that's been completely transformed to provide a comfortable travel space for up to two dogs. Highlights of the vehicle include a two-way ‘dog cam’, water shower, dryer and access ramp.
The Nissan dog car concept received contradictory feedback from the dog owners. In this video Mat Watson of the British Carwow reviews this 4x4 car for dogs.
People say:
Le Leedler: Cool idea, I think a dog package should be an option on most SUVs.
Mr L: As a dog owner I think this concept it is very interesting. Also nice video
Debbie Porter: I want one, and could use many of those extras after a day at the beach/mountains

quigonjay9: For dogs? Really? They can't even reach the pedals !
Enzo the Akita: It looks like a good idea but my Akita won't let me wash or dry him and won't go up the ramp either.
gregory gyllenship: Nice try Nissan but I think the only really useful part is the wipe clean interior, I fear that any accessory described as a wand would end up as broken plastic chewed mess when the drawers are jammed with caked mud. Glad that they are thinking dog anyway, I am happy to volunteer my services alongside my two dogs to design a more realistic dog package :-)
Akash Gupta: can I have the dog :) she is so cute
Brandt McCall: I love Nellie, she doesn't seem very excited about the dog attributes of this SUV. The seat belt for dogs is great, I think very active outdoors people with dog friends would consider this.
Spanner: I wouldn't fit my 3 dogs in that boot... think I'll stick with the X5
MS: I can see myself using those washing heating options, like for example, dirty work and wife has tickets for evening theatre/cinema/concert and i dont have time to go home for a shower, i just have to find the right place, park and pull my pants down. Shower curtain must be optional extra?
JoAnn Paladino: Love it but the ramp needs to be wider...some of us have Big dogs...they get nervous on narrow ramps.
Gagan Preet: ramp is really stupid my dog just jumps straight into driver seats

Justin And The City: I thought the ramp was a good idea but it looks ridiculously narrow - no wonder Nelly wouldn't walk up it
Sean Bailey: That looks a little small for a great dane if your trying to wash him.
Luiza Caldeira: I think that dogs reaction sums up how useful those features are. My dog would react the same. On a lighter note I like the leather interior and gate.
thegoodraj: I'd love to see the best 10 cars for families with dogs. They'd have to have good height for a dog or two, cleanable, low enough for dogs to climb in with our without a ramp and a mesh screen or something similar to so them jumping into the backseat.
Sarah Povah: Come up with a car that has air con when parked up and your out of the car then I will be interested, don't need your washer and hairdryer, all other features are good though!
Lisa Kasper: Cool. People who actually go outside (unlike the assholes who are mocking this review) and who care about their pets and take their roles as pet parents seriously will find this a very handy set of tools for the car for trips to the dog park or the mountains.
