Q: My question is can a Pit Bull and Chihuahua mix be possible?

Yes, it's possible. Why did you have two unaltered dogs in the same house? Go to the vet and have her checked out.

Answer by I Love Mutts
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY weren't your dogs spayed and or neutered?
I would take your pit to the vet ASAP and get her spayed. Please be a responsible pet owner and get your dogs fixed. The world doesn't need anymore pit mixes. I see them everyday, and everyday I pray that people will stop breeding them so I won't have to see them euthanized after they have spent MONTHS in the shelter, never being adopted.

Answer by Lilly
well the shame of this is some breeders are breeding these on purpose calling them the Pithuahua. you can look it up. i dont know what people are thinking when they breed pit bulls and Chihuahuas together. I mean Chihuahuas are aggressive little buggers and then crossing them with a pit bull who are da.. i mean come on. I love pit bull terriers but i dont like people mixing them with breeds that they shouldnt be mixed with making monsters. like crossing them with chows thats a mistake to.

Answer by Shannon
So long as you mix a DOG with another DOG, it won't turn out as a monster. Put any pup with an abusive owner and they will turn out rotten. So long as someone doesnt mix a pitbull and a Tasmanian Devil, everything will turn out well.

hahha woooowww i had a(50%) pitbull (50%)chihuahua given to me for my birthday never did i have health problems with him nor was it aggressive in the littlest bit he was a sweetheart active beautiful dog with green hazel eyes he had puppies with a chihuahua female puppies were fine bulky and fat like pitbulls but gorgeous dogs nothing but healthy some people just need knowledge to be shoved up their heads :) ALTHOUGH IF YOU DONT WANT DOGS THEN DONT GET IN A POSITION LIKE SO DOGS ARE A GREAT COMPANION AND SOMETIMES THEY DONT LAND IN GOOD HANDS>:|

I actually have a toy Chihuahua pit bull mix. Beautiful, loving and sweet dog. First off pits aren't human aggressive unless they are raised wrong do your research before bashing them. Any dog can attack and harm even kill. Second off, I would much rather have my mixed mutt puppy rather than a puppy from a puppy mill dogs in a shelter are better off there than a mill. They are forced into cages with up to 10 puppys sleeping in their own waste and in a horrible living situation, does that soubd fun? Do you wanna try it for a few days? No? Didnt think so.

I disagree with fixing your pet just be responsible when your dog is in heat. Anny ways my puppy is 3 months old and I have never had a problem with him, loves to cuddle and b held and never been aggressive, but my pit hasn't either. Its the owner not the dogs.

Help deliver them 4 died 4 lived they are beyond cute one black eye all white the sweetest personality gets along even with cats we kept one his name is Cooper he is the sweetest happiest pupp alive the major has her dog she named her smudge she always happy wagging her tail to play and the only reason you souldnt breed them is because it is physically damaging painfully for chijuajua and could be a treat to her life shame on you about saying those breeds are aggressive mix I say if a dog is mean no matter what kind of dog you have it’s mean they just put a bad name on my sweet loving pittbull those dogs are such a great pet lots of energy loving playfully always getting into trouble like a little kid. Its all how you raise your dog

    Hi All!
I love Hybrids, canine that is. I have a pair of Dogo/Kangal cross breeds. They are beautiful and unique. My idea of the ultimate canine hybrid would be one of two different breeds. The first would be a Caucasian shepherd crossed with a hyena. The second would be a Boerboel/Hyena cross. Either one would be awesome in my humble opinion.
Unfortunately at my age all I can do is imagine. Were I 20 years younger, it would happen. I know, I’m nuts.LOL.
Wishing you all a Happy and safe 4th of July.

Wow some of you people are sooooo mean. Acidents do happen. I think it's pretty rude to judge. I don't believe in abortion so I think you should let your Pitt have the pups. I have 1 Pitt & 4 Chihuahuas & I would Never make my Pitt have an abortion if she ever got pregnant. I would still take her to the Vet to have her checked out thou. Also why are people Sooo against Pitts they are loving & just like any other dog as long as they have a loving family.

maybe someone can answer this, my female chihuahua got pregnant by my male pit bull, will my chihuahua survive or what will most likely happen to my female chihuahua?

I would take her to the vet immediately… chances are the pups will grow way to big for the little dog.
        Hope everything turns out ok

What about if the Chihuahua is a female and a male pit hot her. Is there a day after pill for dogs? I’m pretty sure pitbull puppies would kill her.

actually if u would take the time to look it up pit bulls passed the aggresion test with and 86 witch is great and better than most dog breeds and pit bull isnt a breed its a generic name for several breeds

Also. The most naturally aggressive dog is a golden retriever. If they attack they just get quarantined for a while where as a pit bull who isn't as high up on the aggressive list as a lot of household family dogs, they would get shot on spot. I love America but congratulations America for now bringing racism into the animal world also.

Who cares if someone wants to let their dogs have puppies its not their fault that their are so many dogs in shlelter and you don't know if they are responsible and will find homes for their dogs so I'm sure your intentions meant well but don't call people iresponsible just becayse you don't agree w their own decisions!

    • danielle says

They may be responsible but also careless…..

over 1 million dogs are put down in the U.S every year because they can't find homes and yet people continue to bring more and more dogs into the world…

I don't know about you but that seems completely ridiculous to me.

I find that A LOT (and I'm not saying ALL) but a lot of dog breeders are cash hungry and can be quite ignorant

Besides the fact,… it is healthier for the dog to be neutered….. Do your research people

One main reason most dogs can’t find homes, and have to be put in shelters are because for the people rent 85% if landlord now a days won’t let people have animals and another reason is because stupid people start dumb rumours about theses poor dogs and say there such terrible things, which 99.9% percent of the time it’s the people not the animals. This world we live in is seriously pathetic, judgemental, and unfair!

Yes it's very possible and I don't know what the person above me is talking about they are not going to put the dogs down because of the mix. My friend has one as an adult now so….what are you talking about? I hate when people don't know what they are talking about and post comments. The dog could possibly have health issues but MOST chihuahuas do anyway.

I don’t know why people say that all, excuse me, MOST Chihuahuas have health issues either….
Let’s all do some research on the subjects we are concerned about and stop bashing each other all the time.

I recently rescued a pit/chi mix and she is a wild, crazy, silly little girl but with love and a discipline she is doing well. She loves all people and is a sweet little cuddle bug.

Any dog can be a good healthy pet with proper care.

      A tiff with my family
. A miff from my gal
      Nub dub at the office
. A snub from my pal
      A lick on my fingers
. Cold nose in my hand
      A tail wagging madly
      . Do dogs “understand?”

Enjoy your pets and take good care of them. They will give back more than you could hope for.

You can still get your female spayed so she will not have the puppies- take her to the vet immediately. And in the future, if you have intact males and females running around, keep them SEPERATE during the female's heat and try to be a bit more responsible in the future!

Yes she will be up the duff if both dogs are not spayed, i would take her to the vets because the puppies are most likely going to be deformed due to the the contrasts in weight, height and build. Im sure you dont want little chihuahuas walking round with pit heds dragging the floor.

yes it is possible. If this is the case, those pups could have a variety of health problemsdue to the conflicting anatomies. I would advise you see your Vet ASAp and consider a spay.

What a disaster….I think ………I'm trying to picture this….hey if she is pregnant you could call the new breed a chihuabull

Oh yea this is definitely possible. Good thing the female is the pitbull because a pitbull getting a chihuahua pregnant would be VERY dangerous. Yes larger dogs will lay down for a smaller dog while in heat. Those aught to be some cute pups huh? Very unique.

Lame! The answer is yes! Thank god it was a male chi and a female pit, that would have been a painful disaster for the mom dog. Anyway, shame on you for not having your dogs fixed. You are now officially part of the problem- OR- you could get her fixed right now, trust me, the vet bills for going through with having the pups will cost more than the spay. Enjoy these overpopulation statistics!

ALSO…Zephyr, that was HATEFUL!!! I love my RESCUED mutts thank you very much. Purebreds are not the be all and end all to dogs, but I know what you meant.

Everyone keeps flipping out over the overpopulation issue and telling people they "need" to alter their dogs. The conversation can never get passed that one issue. People pay for their pets and care for them in the way they see fit. So long as a pet has vet care and loving home, it shouldnt matter if they castrate it or not. If you have a problem with overpopulation in shelters, adopt all the dogs and stop complaining.

    Good job, not
Thats just GREAT that you have unaltered dogs in your home, thats just great for the animals who will get killed for your carelessness in shelters. Great job on killing animals.

    It is possible though.

Yes it is possible, and why would you be so irresponsible to allow two unaltered dogs to be alone or unsupervised while the female was in her heat cycle?

Take her to get spayed… we don't need any more unwanted dogs, especially more pit mixes in the shelters… there's plenty enough already.

When males want to breed to the female, they will do anything to get the deal done. Why don't you spay your female at the beginning? If the breeding just happened, you still have time to have her spayed.
