Caucasian Ovcharka Breeder in California?

Q: CA - Caucasian Ovcharka Breeder?
Are there any Caucasian Ovcharka Breeders/Kennels in California (preferably Northern California)? I'd like to see these dogs up close. I haven't been able to spot one locally. Thanks!

I'm also looking for a reputable breeder of working Caucasian Ovcharkas... but I can't seem to have any luck finding good breeders in the US.... and I don't have the time or the money to travel to Russia to pick up a pup, then fly back with it.

Two Caucasian Shepherd puppies quarrel

They don't have a rescue for that breed... I've checked. There's simply not enough Ovcharkas in the US for there to be one in a rescue.. and even if it were a possibility, I need it for livestock and farm protection so it needs a working drive and certain temperament that most housepets don't have.

Search for Caucasian Ovcharka Club of America on the AKC website.
If there is any, I'm sure that they would love to refer you to a breeder.

I fell in love with the breed about three years ago when I saw a show on them. I'm an experienced breeder, of pit bulls and presas of thirty years and I feel that this is the dog for me
Yes, not just a family member but a best friend!

We have 2 Ovcharka females, 10 yrs and 4 myths (Polly and Skye). They can be the most frustrating dogs to the greatest of friends! Lightning fast and super quick, from 0 to very fast in a heartbeat, great power and strength, very independent, good humor, intelligent, beautiful, large, and did I mention independent?

Polly accepts the pup with patience and allows her to roughhouse until it is nap time which is often … Skye, after just 1 mth, believes my wife is both the alpha and some kind of human goddess; she tolerates me most of the time and ignores me the rest of the time. I have been giving her a couple of slices of bacon each morning which has improved her attitude toward me, at least for an hr or so…….

The bottom line is the puppy needs love and support 24/7; do even think about getting an Ovcharka if you are not willing to give up sleep and energy. We truly love our girls and this wonderful breed of gentle giants (only gentle if trained right); just keep in mind they will always be a challenge but one well worth the time and effort. I wanted one, but living in South Florida I didn't think it's fair to the dog due to the year-round hot weather. I have a Dogo Argentino female and a Turkish Kangal male and two cross breed puppies from them. I love all the molosser breeds. Dogs.

u might have to export one from a reputable breeder in Russia

Answer by Mup2
I know a great reputable person who breeds (and shows) them.
If you want to contact me.
But really, come to the UKC Premier show in Indiana (near Indy) in summer (July) and meet her! She's really cool. And her dogs are stellar.

Unfortunately, we don’t have information about reputable Caucasian Ovcharka breeders in Missouri. Please visit our page Caucasian Shepherd breeders to learn about other breeders in the US. For new ads, keep an eye on our page Caucasian Shepherd for sale or adoption. At the moment there’s an ad from another kennel in Oklahoma there. Also, pay attention to comment from Sherry. A month ago she was searching for a new home for her young male Caucasian Ovcharka. Probably he’s still available for adoption.

I have a imported male Caucasian Shepherd that is 13 months old , He has too much working drive for our family. He has basic obedience training. He is a love and very gentle with our kids and animals. His lines is all working Dogs, Champion out of Russia. I have talked to one person who shows these Dogs and has shown them for 20 years. She said she would for sure breed to him with her females. He is very good looking.
My Daughter has opened a day care here at out home and the Parents are not liking that we have him here on the property. I will take an offer him, but only to a good home.
We really want him in a working home but a show home would be good to.
he has been with horses, dogs and kids. He loves the beach and long car rides. he is located in southern California.
