Lakeland Terrier vs Airedale Terrier vs Giant Schnauzer?

Mikey: Lakeland Terrier Vs Airedale Terrier Vs Giant Schnauzer - which one do you prefer?
I love Giant Schnauzers but I heard they can be very assertive and borderline aggressive and can't be left alone with children... Lakeland terriers and Airedales look the same it just depends on what size I prefer. Does anyone have any experience with these dogs?

We have had two Airedales in our club and I have dog sat these dogs while the owners went to Europe. They have very pleasant personalities and are people dogs... they "love" to be around people and are super sociable and super trainable.

You would be happy with an Airedale...

Lakeland Terrier is a great choice for the active family.  They are a friendly, lively, and cheerful family companion. They love children and other pets, and if socialized early may even share their toys.  Little grooming is necessary unless you plan to show the dog, and they do not shed much.

On the other hand, it's a typical hunting breed that was initially used to hunt otters, badgers, and even foxes. When taking your Lakeland for a walk, always keep him on a leash.
Like other terriers, they can be difficult to housetrain and they are known to bark. They also love to dig; if you prize your landscaping or garden, choose another breed.

We have an Airedale. He's only 5 months old, but he's the coolest dog. My wife has a Yorkie and I wanted a bigger dog. And let me tell you, he's going to be huge!!

He is amazing with kids and other dogs. He has been a breeze to train. He already knows sit, stand, up, lay down, shake, fetch, come, etc. He's just a great happy-go-lucky pup!

Well, both Lakeland and Airedale are terriers, probably similar personalities. Have you seen these dogs in person? I suggest you visit a dog show and see the dogs, talk to their breeders about their behavior.

Giant Schnauzers are not aggressive. Like any dog bred for guarding or fighting, they can be if not trained properly but the same is said for the Airedale.
Airedales are probably more aggressive than Giants. If you like the Giant go for it. With training as one should do with any dog, you will have a great family dog and guardian.

Going by looks and looks alone, I have to say the Giant Schnauzer. They are the most beautiful dog I have ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous.

Ya, you would not have any problem with a Giant Schnauzer. But are concerned maybe go with a Standard.

My Wife and I have an Airedale (Stanley). I've owned many different breeds of dogs and by far Stanley is the smartest of all, He's almost 2yrs old, very happy and energetic, the breed needs lots of exercises. beware airedales will eat any and everything ie, plants, sticks. socks, shirts, plastic, car wax, rocks, shoes, etc... anything that we leave out in the back yard is fair game as far as Stanley is concerned, grapevine and dwarf lemon tree got chewed up pretty bad. all said I wouldn't trade him for any other.
