An Alaskan Malamute CAN have blue eyes, however, it´s very rare to find. It´s like saying "Can a German Shepherd be white?" Which it can, however, it´s very rare. As further information, just like white German Shepherds get euthanized as a baby from breeders because of their color and are not allowed in competitions, Alaskan Malamutes are not allowed in competitions for their eye color. However, love your dog no matter if it differs a bit from other regular dogs of his breed, after all, the only thing that changes is his eye color.

We have an Alaskan Malamute with blue eyes and according to our vet she was pure, she even had a pink, as a pup, in the fur (not skin) from chest to belly as proof; according to the vet.

My Alaskan Malamute has dual registration (CKC and AKC) and he has crystal blue eyes. He was bought in Alaska from the top, well-known breeders (not scam artists looking to fool someone to get more money. Their reputations were on the line) and they told me that I just couldn't put him in competitions.

Alaskan Malamutes can be blue-eyed and I also had an Alaskan malamute and he was a double surprise as we later found out. he was white and had one blue eye and one blue/brown eye, and he was a purebred Malamute; he is gone g=now but we had him for almost 15 years, a good and long life

Real Alaskan Malamutes do not have blue eyes. unless its an Alaskan/ Siberian husky. then yes it will have blue eyes. I have one Malamute and one Siberian and read a lot on both breeds. yes, they will tell you they are malamutes 100% as they cost a lot more.

We are going to look at a red malamute puppy next week when she will be 7 + weeks old. At the moment she has bright blue eyes and if she has them when we see them, we will walk away as hard as it will be. She is £800 and we will not pay that for a fault in the breed.

The reason it’s a disqualification for AKC shows is that if there is a blue eye in an Alaskan Malamute, there is a Siberian, etc., in the woodpile. Purebred Alaskan Malamutes (regardless of papers which are easily forged by people who want to sell pups) do not have the gene for blue eyes. I began breeding Alaskan Malamutes (Frostwind – Naccome) in 1962 and have extensive experience with the breed and the breed history.

Our pup to be is a pure bread mal and he is a very distinguished black and white pup with electric blue eyes so the proof is in the pudding

I have a lot of animal experience, And I've taken two years of vet classes. Alaskan Malamutes CAN have blue eyes BUT it is considered a flaw and is not accepted in dog shows.

You have a beautiful Malamute/Husky cross. A perfectly natural thing to occur. They eyes show the husky, the spine and overall bulk shows the mal. Enjoy your time with and cherish your dog. I hope the dog is of good temper and mild mannered, nothing else on the subject matters.
